Description: Wednesday 3rd – Torfaen Council are teaming up with Cardiff Rivers Group to clear up a stretch of river at Cwmbran Boating Lake as part of the Healthy Planet, Healthy People project. On the day, volunteers are invited to attend to litter pick along the river walkway and the upper banks, along with pulling up invasive Himalayan Balsam, a plant that typically grows alongside watercourses and outcompetes all other vegetation. Litter pickers, hoops and high vis vests will be provided on the day but attendees are advised to dress and wear suitable footwear for the weather on the day and to bring along own water and suncream.
