About
Wellbeing and Mental Health Support
Jo Thomas is an experienced and compassionate wellbeing practitioner with over 30 years’ experience as a counsellor, supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds with their emotional and mental wellbeing. Throughout a long and varied career, Jo has worked at depth with people navigating life challenges, change, stress, and personal growth.
Alongside counselling, Jo has extensive experience as a lecturer, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of others within education and wellbeing settings. This background informs Jo’s grounded, inclusive approach, blending professional expertise with clarity, warmth, and accessibility.
Jo is also a trained mindfulness teacher and practitioner, offering gentle, practical mindfulness suited to everyday life. Her sessions focus on helping people slow down, build awareness, and reconnect with themselves in ways that feel supportive rather than overwhelming. Mindfulness is presented as a lived, human practice rather than something to “get right”.
In addition, Jo works as a holistic therapist, taking a whole‑person approach to wellbeing that recognises the connection between mind, body, and lived experience. This integrated perspective underpins all of Jo’s work, creating spaces that are calm, non‑judgemental, and responsive to individual needs.
Through Wellbeing with Jo, Jo currently facilitates community‑based sessions including Mindfulness & Well‑being groups and the Wellbeing Hub, offering welcoming, relaxed environments for connection, support, and personal wellbeing. These sessions are designed to reduce isolation, build resilience, and provide accessible wellbeing support within local communities.
Jo’s work is rooted in kindness, authenticity, and deep professional experience, offering people a place to pause, reflect, and feel supported—whether they are seeking gentle mindfulness, meaningful connection, or ongoing wellbeing support.
